At the front desk our team of reception staff will help you schedule appointments, surgery and kennel stays. The reception staff is standing by to answer questions and concerns regarding an array of issues over the phone or in person. They are well versed in the policies and procedures of Shepherd Veterinary Clinic and will impart this information as good customer service to make your visit to our clinic a positive and rewarding experience for yourself and your pet.
Our caring technical team is made up of Technician Assistants and Technicians. This creates a layered level of expertise in the exam room and surgery area. The team is able to converse with you regarding the many issues, which arise when you have a pet whether you are a beginner with a new puppy/ kitten or a seasoned pet owner with concerns. They are a compassionate group of qualified caregivers maintaining a high standard of quality care. The technicians monitor your pets under anesthesia, perform dental cleanings and assist in surgery as the doctor's right hand person for tooth extraction, spay/ neuter and growth removal procedures just to name a few.

Dr. Foster grew up in the town of Harvard learning to care for animals on the family backyard farm. After graduating Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA he went on to Bowdoin College, earning a BA in biochemistry in 1983. His interest in animal care and strength in the study of science led him to Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with a DVM in 1987. He spent five years at Heritage Hill Veterinary Clinic in Medfield, MA developing his small animal medicine and surgery skills. In 1992 he opened Shepherd Veterinary Clinic in Boxborough, MA coming home to the area where he grew up. He now lives and works at the property in Boxborough with his wife and four boys. He enjoys visiting his family’s cottage in Ontario, Canada, gardening, following the pursuits of his four boys, and caring for his Jack Russell Terrier, Gracey.

In 1995, Irene graduated from Aristotle University in Greece, before moving on to complete one year at Tufts University. In 2001, she joined us and has been an essential part of our team ever since. Dr. Papamitrou is particularly interested in new developments with Internal Medicine and Dermatology, and she regularly studies these fields in her free time. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and lives in Southborough with her husband, two children, Boston terrier Daisy and cat Lucy. When she isn't studying medical advances or spending time here at the clinic, Dr. Papamitrou enjoys sharing time with her family, as well as reading and traveling.

Dr. Neville joined us in 2008, and lives locally with her husband and two children, who recently added a new addition to their family, a Golden Retriever puppy named Tulip. Leslie graduated from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993 and has completed a small animal internship from Onadell Animal Hospital in Onadell, New Jersey in 1995 and an aquatic animal internship from the New England Aquarium in 2001. In her free time Leslie enjoys running, snowshoeing, sailing, and spending time with her family, along with volunteering and working in her community.
